Equivalence of interdisciplinary Refresher Courses with Refresher Course in Subject/Discipline 

  • Every Interdisciplinary Courses is equivalent to Refresher course in the subject/discipline of the participant. (UGC Guidelines 2007-12, Para IV Curriculum, sub-para 4.2 Components of the Orientation Programmes, Page 15).

Instructions for Provisionally Selected HRDC Participants

  • At the time of joining, the participant is required to submit the following certificates from the competent authority:

    • Relieving letter and duty leave orders, Identity card.

    • Certificate stating that the lecturer has not attended any Orientation/FIP/Refresher Course during the last one year.                                    OR

    Has attended an Orientation/FIP and/or Refresher Course during the last one year from ____________to___________(mention dates).  However, the senior scale/selection grade already stands due from__________(mention dates).

    • INR 1000/- (Non-Refundable Registration Fee) in the name of "Honorary Director, HRDC, Panjab University, Chandigarh".

  • Fees has to be paid only after selection in the Course. Please do not pay the fees in advance.

  • In case confirmation of atleast 20 applicants is not received by the due date the course might be cancelled/postponed (No TA/DA will be paid).  Before leaving the station kindly confirm the dates of the course on HRDC office.

  • There is no provision for payment of TA/DA for participants of Short Term Courses.

  • AC-III railway fare AC/Deluxe Bus fare is permissible. In all cases, production of rail/bus tickets is a must for reimbursement of due expenses incurred. If travel by Car/Taxi are not admisible for any reimbursement.

  • Faculty members working in Universities and Colleges that are included under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, even though they may not yet fit under Section 12(B), may be invited to participate in the Orientation and Refresher Courses. The teachers of colleges that do not yet come within the purview of Section 2(f), but have been affiliated to a University for at least five years, will be permitted to participate in the courses.

  • The course will run regularly from 9.30 to 4.30 p.m. on all working days (Monday to Saturday). There is no provision of any leave during the course.

  • The HRDC has a hostel for stay of participants.

    • Lodging arrangements for the outstation participants will be made strictly on first-come first-served basis.  In case the HRDC hostel is already fully booked they may have to make their own lodging arrangements. 

    • Lodging arrangements are only for participants.

    • The hostel facilities are basic.

    • Only mattresses, pillows, bed-sheets and one blanket will be provided by HRDC.

    • Weather in Chandigarh during November-March is cold.

    • Hostel residents should bring their own lock & key.
